Burned Out, Not Broken

Burnout therapy for corporate professionals and entrepreneurs.

Thinking About Taking a Leave? Start Here.

I specialize in working with professionals who are thinking about taking a leave of absence or are currently on one. If that's you, you know something has to change, but it’s overwhelming to try to imagine what that is.

Burnout shows up physically and emotionally. You might be exhausted no matter how much you sleep, or find yourself lying awake at 3am with your mind racing. Headaches, stomach trouble, a tight chest, and getting sick are common. You may feel numb about a job you used to care about, dread work before the day even starts, and snap at people you love. Your focus is shot, small decisions feel huge, and you're probably beating yourself up for not being able to push through like you used to.

We start by helping your body and mind settle out of survival mode. Then we look at what factors played a role in this situation and what you want your work and life to look like from here. You don't have to have your next step figured out yet. When you're steady again, you can decide whether it feels right to return back to your job or to transition to something different.

How we work together

This isn't generic stress management. Burnout at your level isn't about learning to meditate for five minutes a day, it's about a body and nervous system that have been in survival mode for months or years, often without you realizing it. Using a somatic and trauma-informed approach, we work with what your body has been holding onto- not just what's in your head- so you can access real clarity instead of just another coping strategy.

This work helps you:

  • Recognize what's actually driving the exhaustion, not just the symptoms

  • Rebuild your capacity to think clearly under pressure

  • Reconnect with what you actually want, not what you think you should want

  • Make your next decision from a grounded, centered place

  • Untangle your identity from your job title so your sense of worth doesn't hinge on your performance

  • Notice the early warning signs your body gives before burnout hits again

  • Set boundaries at work without the guilt spiral that usually follows

  • Rebuild trust in your own judgment, especially if you've been overriding your gut for a long time

  • Create space between a stressful moment and your reaction to it, instead of responding on autopilot

Should you stay or should you go?

The question of staying in or leaving their job is often what brings people to this work. What I can do is help you get out of the fog burnout creates, so that when you do decide, it's coming from clarity instead of panic, resentment, or fear. Some clients stay in their roles and find a sustainable way forward. Others use this time to make a real change.

Both are valid outcomes of this work.

What's Actually Happening When You Burn Out

Most of the people I see for burnout have never had this problem before, so when it happens to them, they don’t recognize it as burnout, but as an internal crisis. They can't focus. They're short with people. They're leaning on unhelpful coping mechanisms they know aren’t healthy.

What's actually going on is pretty straightforward, physiologically. Your nervous system has been running in a heightened state- alert, scanning, predicting, managing- for so long that hypervigilance became the default way of operating. This not a discipline problem, and you didn't lose your edge.

We won't start with productivity hacks or trying to think your way out of it, because that's not where the problem is rooted. We start with the body by resetting and regulating the nervous system so that your zone of resiliency can begin to rebound.

That's really the goal here. Not to hand you an answer, but to get you back to a place where you trust your decision making and listen to your needs.

What Getting Your Life Back Actually Looks Like

  • Waking up without dread already sitting in your chest

  • Making a hard decision and trusting it instead of second-guessing it for weeks

  • Having enough left at the end of the day for the people you love

  • Feeling like yourself at work again, not like you're performing a version of yourself

  • Noticing stress before it takes over and having the tools to manage it

  • Knowing the difference between "I should" and "I actually want”

  • Whatever you decide about work- staying, shifting, or leaving- making that call from a confident, grounded frame of mind
